For much of my career, I have written exclusively for my professional community, namely therapists. In years gone by I usually focused on topics of clinical interest. More recently, and particularly since hearing Maude Barlow, Canadian activist extraordinaire, speak in June 2000, I have become more politically active and this is reflected in my writing.

In both Women of Substance (Allen and Unwin, 1998) and The Crowded Nest (Lothian Books, 2006), I have allowed my writing to be guided by pervasive social issues, namely body image and the crowded nest syndrome. Of The Crowded Nest, Gleebooks wrote: 'Sue Jackson examines this modern phenomenon with sympathy, humour and wisdom, offering strategies and insights to help both parents and adult children understand, survive and learn from this challenging period in their lives'.

From this page, you can access a number of articles I've written. You can also buy a copy of 'The Crowded Nest' by using the link on the right. Feel free to let me know what you think of my writing, either by emailing me or leaving a comment on my blog.
